Non digestable ‘Sach Ka Saamna’

There is a big hue and cry these days regarding the show ‘Sach ka Saamnaa’ and I would like to add my opinion on it. The show is hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal who was off from the camera after his last success film ‘Aamir’. The talk show reveals personal truths of individuals for the sake of money. Besides it even tells some ‘typical truths’ that would surely not be digested by many in India.

We certainly have run out of issues to cry rough over from podiums. It seems that the media fraternity as a whole have lost their morals to the deadly TRPs and advertisements to get it going in the rat race and have an instant fame. I really wonder how a mom would be able to love her daughter who had planned to kill her for money or a woman would be asked to stay all through with a husband who had cheated her.

I feel that after knowing these ‘truths’, they have invited an earthquake in their life and have made fun of their relationship. The participants of the show surely must have gone through various hardships and trials of life but I found it ridiculous to make it public just for money. Besides, with the reality show like this he has definitely reduced the number of his Rajeev Khandelwal’s fans.

The show is under the scrutiny of many media channels (they have something to play it across 24 *7) and the bureaucrats on the grounds of ‘hampering Indian morals’, yet I feel that there could have been some better way to showcase our own hypocrisy. The motive of the show seems instant fame by glorifying an individual’s personal life.

On the other hand there are talk shows like ‘Zindagi Live’ on IBN7 that talks about real life stories of everyday people. Though it deals with the similar topics yet there is a sense of beauty in it that motivates individuals to take a lesson from their life. It is a testimony of their life which encourages an individual to ‘Move on’ in life no matter what comes their way.

Some things are best said when not spoken. Be it a relation with your friend or your parents or anyone on this earth, the unspoken mode of communication is the one that works wonders. Maybe this is the reason that when we are stressed or exhausted, we find a great deal of relief with our pet or teddy; the one who can hear us patiently without giving us a bag full of solutions.

This doesn’t mean that I am against communication of words, yet taking the old traditions- I personally would prefer to keep a mum on some things, especially when it is about my personal life. Obviously, going by the meaning of personal, it necessarily means something that pertains to an individual or each of many individuals.

India as a country is still not ready for such bold show formats and there is something where we should boast of our culture instead of copying formats from the West. There is a need to maintain the much acknowledged ‘timid Indian culture’ worldwide.

It's true but 'serials like 'sach ka samna' can't help to check such problems. There are other factors behind the population growth and we can't contain it without addressing those factors.

yes, undoubtedly 'Sach Ka samna' is against our values and culture. There are so many hidden truths in the society and for the sake of stability of society its better to keep these hidden. We can't allow the fragmentation of society in the name of freedom of speech.

So many times we are unable to bear the truth and it's better if done with fair intentions. 'Sach ka samna' violates the personal freedom. It's totally against Indian ethos.

The serials like 'sach ka samna' are the symptoms of India becoming modern and fast developing country. First it was gay rights, then came lesbians, now sach ka samna. Now we need to legalize the prostitution. India..... jeet lo Duniya...

Being modern does not mean being uprooted at all. We need to understand the difference between the two. Being gay or lesbian is an individual choice of living up a life bt a lot of values go for a toss when the same show is on public television at prime time. Imagine a situation when a question like- Have you slept with a person other than your husband is posed and your own teenaged cousin/child is sitting with you and asks the meaning of the same.

You can restrict children from watching adult movies in theatre but can’t always safeguard them from the shows that runs in your own household.

It's a wonderful program. We must call in Vajpayee, Narendra Modi, Advani, Manmohan Singh. If they are really patriotic I suggest the organizers of the show to send Special invitation to these politicians to take part in this show.

Sukhbahar,

I don’t think so it will make any difference as we all know what they had been doing so far. Until and unless they change their mindsets and are ready for change, it doesn’t matter. People choose a politician so that they govern a country well and not for taking part in game in gameshows or have their cases of crime in the courts.
